Why you should be a jack of all trades

I am a firm believer that everyone should know a little bit about many many things. It makes you more employable, and more versatile. It gives you a broader base of experience to draw from, the chance to look at a situation from a different perspective, and have a different context. Above all by learning a bit about a lot you are constantly practicing learning.

Practice Learning

Learning is a skill like any other. If you want to be good at something you have to work at it. From a musical instrument to leading a group of people. There are studies that show that it takes somewhere around five thousand hours to master a task, and while it may not be practical to spend that amount of time on every skill you have, in my experience it is well worth while learning how to learn.
